Handpainted Gym Art at Leh, Ladakh
As we pointed out in our previous post in the "Art and Craft" category that...
there is an emerging modern and contemporary art scene in Leh Town.
Here is another example of that.
We spotted an upmarket Gymnasium with handpainted wall murals with muscular imagery to motivate the Gym members and to attract visitors.
Since Gym has a wide glass front on the 1st floor people from the road can spot these bold stroked figures and will be curious to see or inquire.
This is a fine example how Leh young artists are balancing commercial aspects of their talent... at the same time surviving within the town rather than migrating to some metropolitan mega city to slog.
In fact these young artist are leveraging all the channels at their disposal... local commercial projects and digital platforms like Instagram to showcase their art.
We looked carefully at the artist's signature and we found apart from the name... Instagram handle was also given for better connection and visibility.
Salute to these young artist finding ways to showcase their art and getting paid for it.
We are very positive about this emerging art scene at Leh, Ladakh.
